Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and will be responsible for maintaining and updating our QuickBooks Enterprise system, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with all company policies. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • QuickBooks Maintenance:
    • Regularly update and maintain the QuickBooks Enterprise system with accurate financial data, including sales, purchases, and inventory levels.
    • Ensure proper functionality of the manufacturing module and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Data Entry and Record Keeping:
    • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
    • Maintain organized financial records and files for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels, track product usage, and reconcile inventory discrepancies within QuickBooks.
    • Assist in periodic inventory counts and ensure that all discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Generate and review financial reports (e.g., profit and loss statements, balance sheets) to assist the accounting team in decision-making.
    • Prepare reports related to manufacturing costs, production variances, inventory variances and inventory valuation.
    • Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Enterprise.
    • Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable and receivable.
    • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and internal financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
    • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and information as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Level II ACCA and studying towards completion of the Certification, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience working with QuickBooks Enterprise, preferably with the full suite of modules.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with additional accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
