General Overview

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end close-off.
- Assist in retrieving files for all upcoming audits.
- Performing work related to accounts payable.
- Assist in providing various reports and information required.
- Assist in data entry for creditors.
- Uncover and probe any inconsistencies, or discrepancies of financial statements, accounts, and transactions.
- Scrutinize and assess financial data for precision, entirety, and uniformity.
- Create reports that synthesize audit discoveries, along with recommendations for enhancing financial controls, processes, and protocols.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to effectuate suggested changes and enhancements to financial systems and procedures.
- Continuously oversee and assess the efficacy of implemented alterations and controls, ensuring sustained compliance and precision.
- Gather files and ensure all accounting documents are accurate and prepared for Auditing.
- Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
- Create and update expense reports.
- Process reimbursement forms.
- Check spreadsheets for accuracy.
- Maintain digital and physical financial records.
- Supporting the senior/managing accountant and wider finance team
- Collaborating with these teams to work on various accounting projects.
- Performing reconciliations of accounts
- Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
- Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate
- Preparing profit and loss accounts sheets
- Preparing VAT return
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
- Any other accounting duties as instructed by Senior Accountant.
Education and Experience:
- Degree from a certified accounting institution or completed level 2 ACCA and in progress of Level 3.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in an accounting position that deals with auditing is preferred.
- Peachtree experience is required.
- A knowledge of JDE system would be an asset.
- Microsoft Software Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient in financial auditing procedures, practices, and principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Must adhere in a manner consistent with the company Code of Business and Ethical Standards and comply with all local Company Policies – HR & HSE.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk management practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
- Must be proactive and able to work in a fast paste environment.

Job Type: Contracted 6 – 8 months.
