Overview:

A dynamic organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Officer to join its team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in conducting research, providing insights, and supporting the organization’s mission to drive business and economic development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and Position Paper Development: Conduct in-depth research to support programmatic work in trade, advocacy, and regulatory affairs. Develop position papers that present findings and strategic recommendations to influence policy and promote business interests.

  • Research Request Management: Manage and prioritize research requests from both internal teams and external stakeholders. Deliver accurate and timely information to support effective decision-making.

  • Trade and Economic Briefs: Provide research and analytical support for developing trade and economic briefs. Utilize data and trend analysis to produce insightful reports that guide strategic initiatives.

  • Research Initiatives Support: Support research activities, including literature reviews, data compilation, analysis, and report writing. Ensure outputs are high-quality and aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Data Analytics for Publications: Analyze quarterly data to generate sectoral insights. Contribute to statistics and analytics featured in publications, ensuring the information is clear and accessible.

  • Grant Writing and Project Proposals: Participate in grant writing and assist in developing project proposals to secure funding from local and international sources. Collaborate with internal departments to align proposals with organizational priorities.

  • National and International Research Monitoring: Track national and global research developments, such as economic indicators and central bank reports. Share relevant findings with stakeholders, accompanied by contextual analysis.

  • Meeting Documentation: Ensure the distribution of meeting notes and action items promptly. Maintain organized records to support follow-up and accountability.

  • Committee Meeting Support: Provide logistical and administrative assistance for regular and special committee meetings. Coordinate agendas, materials, and communication for effective outcomes.

  • Event Coordination: Support event planning by coordinating logistics, liaising with vendors, and ensuring smooth execution.

  • Project Coordination: Manage committee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Strong research and data analysis skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of research methodologies and report writing.
  • Personal Attributes: Organized, proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented.
