Job Summary

To assist in maintaining accurate accounting records to facilitate in managerial decision- making.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining healthy cash flow for the group:

  • Ensuring invoices are accurate and sent to clients in a timely manner.
  • Managing and reporting on the receipt of funds to the companies.
  • Ensuring deposits are made in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring bank balances and reporting status to Accounts Manager.
  • Updating daily cash flow, daily financing and related treasury activities.
  • Updating daily financing.

Maintain a healthy relationship with suppliers by:

  • Managing the schedule of payments for the group companies
  • Maintain up-to-date billing system and accounts by:
  • Posting of vendor cheque payments.
  • Posting of Creditor cheque payments.
  • Posting of debit advices and/or standing orders.
  • Preparing journals as necessary
  • Updating Bank and Credit Card journals for the group companies
  • Preparing bank reconciliations for the group companies

Ensure accuracy and timely payment of salaries by:

  • Verifying accuracy of payroll
  • Ensuring salaries are remitted to the bank via the ACH system within established deadline.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations by:
  • Verifying the accurate calculation and remittance of National Insurance Contributions to the National Insurance Board prior to the deadline date.
  • Verifying the accurate calculation and remittance of PAVE and Health Surcharge
  • contributions to the Board of Inland Revenue prior to the deadline date.
  • Accurately calculating and remitting VAT, Green Fund Levy and Business Levy contributions to the Board of Inland Revenue prior to the deadline date.
  • Ensuring TD4's are prepared and distributed to staff of the company group within statutory deadline

Assist in maintaining and monitoring Group company cash flow by:

  • Getting bank balances on both accounts by 8:15 AM every day
  • Getting foreign exchange rates and notifying the airport shop of same by opening time

Assist in fine-tuning the operations of the Accounts department by:

  • Participating in or leading various finance projects (e.g. Inventory monitoring reporting)
  • as required.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • ACCA Level 2 or Accounting Technician's Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years' progressive experience in an Accounting environment
  • Knowledge of Peachtree/Quickbooks or other Accounting software
