Job Summary:

Responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining timely, accurate records, and providing excellent customer service to clients and staff. This role is crucial for ensuring the firm’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Accurately process payments from clients, including checks, cash, wire transfers and cash.
  • Accurate write up of deposit book to be sent to the Bank and ensuring when returned the deposit information completed by the Bank is correct.
  • Issue receipts and maintain a record of all financial transactions.
  • Handle client trust accounts in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as required.
  • Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to clients during financial transactions.
  • Assist with inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account balances.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and financial data.
  • Ensure all cheque payments are filed daily in sequential order with the supporting documents in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivables Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Any other adhoc reports and request by the CFO

Relevant expertise includes:
  • Previous experience in a cashier or accounting role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • Data entry skills
  • Analyzing information quickly and accurately
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills evident in the preparation of accurate weekly and monthly reports within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Good understanding of general accounting procedures.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Minimum of CAT Level 2 or experience in Accounting in a computerized environment.
• Experience in a fast paced accounting environment.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite: Advanced level Excel, Word, Power-Point and Outlook.
• Strong decision-making skills excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizing and time management skills, ability to coordinate tasks.
• Must be professional in all aspects.
