Job Summary:

Self-motivated and technically skilled accounts receivable officer with experience in managing several accounts. Attention to details and good communication and writing skills. Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely receipt of outstanding payments from clients.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying and classifying receivables data
  • Prepare monthly Sub Ledger to GL Reconciliations to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending emails, missing invoices and contacting clients and escalating to superior if required
  • Generate reports and analysis for management as requested
  • Maintaining meticulous records of payment details for easy reference and auditing
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Filing and maintenance of Customer files
  • Ensure timely completion each month of bank reconciliation with minimal or no unreconciled balances
  • Preparation of bank letters
  • Any other adhoc reports and request by the CFO

Relevant expertise includes:

  • A competent and independent worker with more than 3 years’ experience of the full accounts receivable function
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration
  • Data entry skills
  • Analyzing information quickly and accurately
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills evident in the preparation of accurate weekly and monthly reports within tight deadlines
  • Good understanding of general accounting procedures

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of CAT Level 2 or experience in Accounting in a computerized environment
  • Experience in a fast paced accounting environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Advanced level Excel, Word, Power-Point and Outlook
  • Strong decision-making skills excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizing and time management skills, ability to coordinate tasks
  • Must be professional in all aspects
