Our client is seeking to hire an Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payables for their south location.

Job Summary

Our client is currently seeking candidates who are detail oriented and interested in joining our Finance Team as an Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payables. This role will report directly to the Company Accountant and will carry out the duties as follows:

Job responsibilities

  • Prepares payment schedules for local and foreign suppliers and submit to Company Accountant for review and approval.
  • Processes payment in the form of cheques, wire transfers or credit card.
  • Manages and maintains monthly cheque run.
  • Prepares cheques and account transfer payments for intercompany accounts.
  • Evaluates and reconciles vendor statements and responds to vendor queries.
  • Prepares diesel consumption report monthly.
  • Manages petty cash, prepares voucher, manages allocation, obtains approval and prepares reimbursement.
  • Prepares monthly expense schedule, credit card expense analysis and reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Prepare schedules to support financial statements and assist with management reports.
  • Manages records in accordance with the Company’s record retention policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the sorting and opening on the company’s correspondence and distribute to the appropriate department.
  • Assists in cashing duties and responsibilities when necessary.
  • Performs filing of all records on a daily basis to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares weekly reports on all accounts for Oilfield Division including purchase order tracking report on all open purchase orders.
  • Ensure all payments are recorded in their respective bank accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and Reconciliations
  • Skills and attributes:

    • Experience reconciling accounting figures and financial records.
    • Ability to identify errors.
    • Appropriate handling of sensitive information.
    • Ability to work well with other team members.
    • High level of attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong client relationship management and customer service skills.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages.
