Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant II is responsible for performing routine and repetitive clerical accounting and bookkeeping duties following established procedures to accomplish duties.
Job Requirements:
- Provides prompt and quality Customer Service by projecting and demonstrating a high level of professionalism, courtesy and initiative in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
- To effectively and efficiently serve both internal and external customers
- To ensure the smooth running of the Cashiers unit for 1 hour to relieve Cashier for lunch and other times where necessary
- To reconcile named accounts
- To reconcile the Death & Maturity claims and updating APL & Loan register & miscellaneous suspense register
- To reconcile the outstanding Disbursement register
- Preparation of cheques
- Allocation of funds received for Manual Payments
- Printing, batching, sorting of cheques and obtaining signatories
- Sort, stamp and distribute all mail received for the department
- Filing of cash summaries, copies of cheques and deposit slips
- Filling of journals and CRF vouchers
- Liaises with both internal & external customers.
- Minimizes the amount of and manage the reconciliation of salary deduction, accident and health, Tatil General (200140, 200153 and 200154).
- Reconciles and manages assigned accounts
- Preparation of the cash balances the first working day each month
- Processing of Life Insurance Premiums
- To handle the process for returned cheques
- Provide the cheques over $100,000 to the Accountant\CFO
- Quarterly review of Fixed assets and numbering to ensure alignment with Fixed asset registers
- Ensuring that all journal vouchers and CRF’S over $100,000 are authorized by both the CFO and Managing Director
- To process ACPM journals
- Preparation of Salary deduction deposits
- To ensure the preparation of Cheque Payment Vouchers for all the client's invoices and vat journals
- To maintain the vat register
- To assist with preparing statement of earnings for agents on request and respond to sales administration on agent queries relating to the payroll
- To assist with the completion of annual TD4’s for agents on Earned and Financing

Job Education:
- BSc in Accounting or ACCA level II or equivalent Accounting qualification
- 5 O’Levels including Mathematics, English & Accounts
- 3 A ‘Levels
- LOMA 280 and 281, ACS 100 & ACS 101
Job Training Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
Job Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or qualifications
