Our client in the Insurance Sector is seeking to onboard a Finance Analyst for a six months period for their Port of Spain office.

Salary Range: $10K-$12K

Job Summary:

The Finance Analyst, will play a key role in the production and analysis of IFRS 17 financial results. This resource will be responsible for translating complex financial data into clear insights and reports using dashboards, tables, and memos. Additionally, he/she will contribute to process optimization efforts and assist in building templates to streamline operations. Proficiency in Power BI is essential for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce IFRS 17 financial results in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Analyze financial data and results, providing clear insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare presentations, tables, dashboards, and memos to communicate results effectively to senior management.
  • Assist in optimizing financial and operational processes within the department.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, templates, and reporting structures to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth flow of financial data in and out of the department.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and provide analysis as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Power BI is required.
  • Finance experience in addition to training in Power BI or coding.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
  • Ability to develop financial models and optimize processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with IFRS 17 or similar accounting standards is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team.

Job Skills:

  • Experience in the life insurance industry is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and dashboard creation.
  • Accounting background preferred but not essential.
