Company description
The Moksha story is an interesting one. I wasn’t always a massage G.O.A.T. or a health & wellness therapist. I started out leaving high school way too young. I started my first University degree at 17 – in Medical Technology, with a major in Microbiology (nerd for life!).
I completed this and still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I then went to South Africa, where I volunteered with a performing arts group called Beyond Words. We were trying to raise awareness of social issues in South African society through the media of song, dance & music. I lived in a village for 2 weeks at a time. I didn’t have a permanent address and I lived out of a suitcase. It was one of the happiest years of my life.
I then came back to Guyana, still not having a clue what I wanted to do
My younger brother was in a pretty horrific accident shortly after I dropped out of medical school. I had been living and working in Annai, teaching people how to use the radio. His accident happened in Lethem and he had to be medevacked to Georgetown. He had been accepted to a University in Malaysia. His doctors said that he could go if he had someone to monitor his health so I became a personal nurse.
While I was in Malaysia, I found a University that was partnered with a teaching hospital. They specialized in complementary therapy, naturopathic medicine & rehabilitative services. They embraced a holistic approach to health and encouraged us to treat the patient and not just the illness. This was home for me.
The rest is history they say, fast forward 15 years and here we are now. I am living my best life. I am happy. I feel fulfilled. I feel useful and I get to meet some of the most amazing people and some of the craziest stories from all over this dear land of Guyana.

with my life. I was then given a scholarship to study medicine in Cuba. It was when I was in medical school that I started to look at the way patients were treated. I have always been of the view that health needs to be holistic. The Western system of medicine didn’t sit too well with me so I decided to drop out of medical school while I was on a scholarship.
