Position: Mechanical Engineer for Turnaround Support

Working Hours:
- Pre-Turnaround Period (February): 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM).
- Turnaround Months (March and April): 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break and a 30-minute break at 4:00 PM). Weekend work may be required based on the execution schedule.
- Overtime is considered after the completion of the first eight hours of work.
Job Summary:
This role supports pre-turnaround works and supervise contractors during the execution phase of the turnaround.
The client is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to support pre-turnaround works and supervise contractors during the execution phase of a turnaround. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for various tasks related to stationary equipment installations, planning, and contractor management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and Edit Plans and Documents:
- Review and edit the approved Health, Environmental, and Safety (HES) Plan.
- Review and edit the approved Quality Assurance-Quality Control (QA-QC) Plan.
- Review and edit heavy lift plans.
- Review and edit planning packages for various stationary equipment (e.g., Heat Exchangers).
- Contractor and Materials Management:
- Follow up with contractors on materials management and procurement.
- Collaborate with contractors to ensure timely collection and delivery of materials.
- Support contractor kick-off meetings to ensure mobilization aligns with the approved plan.
- Scope and Contract Management:
- Develop and issue scopes of work for minor contracts, adhering to the client’s Internal Procedure for Tenders.
- Develop variations to existing scopes of work, including estimates.
- Prepare daily permitting documents (Engineer will be permit trained).
- Turnaround and Project Supervision:
- Supervise contractors during the execution phase of the turnaround.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project.
Job Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of field experience in the petrochemical industry.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience supervising contractors during project execution in the petrochemical sector.
- Knowledge and experience in turnaround planning and preparation.
- Working knowledge of SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing).
- Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of stationary equipment installation for turnarounds.
- Ability to develop and review engineering plans and contractor documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams.
Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) Requirements:
- The Engineer will be required to adhere to the company’s HES policies and participate in the client’s safety orientation program.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used in compliance with the company’s “Rules and Regulations for Contractors.”
- Compliance with the substance abuse control program, including random and compulsory drug testing as required by the client.
