Overview:
The Bodyshop Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Bodyshop work-floor. This role involves leading and mentoring the team, implementing strategies to optimize performance, and ensuring a reliable and efficient work environment, all aimed at enhancing client satisfaction. The position reports to the Directors or their designate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Goal Setting: Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
  • Team Management: Train, motivate, and monitor the performance of all Bodyshop employees.
  • Work Scheduling: Direct and schedule the work of all Bodyshop employees.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with insurance adjusters and customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Productivity Monitoring: Review technicians' daily productivity reports and communicate findings to the office manager for payroll.
  • Client Communication: Ensure accurate communication of costs and repair timelines with clients.
  • Parts Management: Follow up on parts ordered to ensure availability and adherence to deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality service repairs and conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints promptly in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Documentation Management: Monitor paper flow to ensure all documents are accounted for, completed legibly, and properly filed or distributed.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure proper safety equipment is available and used correctly.
  • Asset Maintenance: Monitor the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other fixed assets to ensure longevity and value.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Stay informed about new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases as needed.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.
  • Professionalism: Maintain professional communication and appearance.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in a body shop or automotive repair environment.
  • Knowledge of repair processes, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
  • Proficient in monitoring productivity and maintaining documentation.
  • Familiarity with automotive tools and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
