Accountancy Training Centre was conceived in the year 2000 by Mr Jerry Persaud after having successfully completed his ACCA studies in London. Recognising the need for quality and affordable tuition, driven by his passion for accounting and his desire to contribute to the Guyanese society, he invested his effort into an institution that became a household name in Guyana for accounting tuition. He was joined in 2007 by his wife Indranie Sookdeo who is also a Chartered Certified Accountant to strengthen and work collectively to build ATC into a successful, recognised and affordable tuition provider in Guyana.
Started in Camp Street, Georgetown in very confined accommodations, ATC commenced operations with approximately 25 students in two classrooms. Student numbers grew rapidly and

continuous expansion was inevitable to accommodate the growing demand for quality tuition. However, the continuous expansion of ATC never compromised the quality of tuition provided to its students and was maintained by rigid quality control mechanisms coupled with the dedication and commitment of its lecturers.
This resulted in high pass rates by its students and it also set the stage for compliance with international industry standards and allowed the Institution to be subsequently accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as an Approved Learning Partner (ALP) and a Demand Computer Based Examination (CBE) centre for FIA/CAT & ACCA Courses, then by the Association of Business Executives (ABE) for all Levels 4 to 6 in 2012. In 2019, ATC was and is still the only BPP Tuition Solution Providers in Guyana as well for the Caribbean.
At this stage, ATC was instrumental in significantly increasing the number of qualified accountants in Guyana, many of whom are now offering their services to domestic and international organizations, whether locally or overseas. This was, after all, the self-imposed mandate of the Institution and has continued to be to this day. By this time ATC had become a name that was synonymous with high-quality accounting tuition across Guyana and set the bar for excellence in the local professional tuition industry.
Now relocated at 267 New Market Street, in a modern state-of-the-art learning environment, ATC continues to offer students quality and affordable tuition that enhances their lives and in turn, fosters growth in Guyana. Our success has been hinged on the simple totem of “Adding Value to your Future” and this has been an inspiration to both our students and lecturers alike.
Over the years ATC has been awarded by the ACCA a Learning Partnership Award, an Excellence in Teaching Award an Award for ATC’s 10 Years of Service and an Award for ATC’s 20 Years of Service with the ACCA Body.
Accountancy Training Centre was the first institution to be a Gold Approved Learning Partner of the ACCA in Guyana and has maintained this status continuously to date.
Our commitment to the development of our lecturers and staff is evidenced by the success stories of lecturers, some of whom are now lecturing in London and further afield.
In our bid to advance with technology and be innovative, ATC has been the first and only institution to launch lecturing via international teleconferencing for some of our programmes. This has proven to be quite beneficial for our students as they are provided with the opportunity to interact, in real-time, with well qualified and experienced lecturers from overseas for a fraction of the cost they would have had to pay for such an experience outside of Guyana.
In addition to the above ATC is the only institution to launch the ACCA Session CBE F5-F9 which started in Dec 2017 and will continue onwards.
Overall, Accountancy Training Centre has all the credentials in terms of facilities, experience, innovative use of available technologies and administrative prowess, to equip any student with the tools required to develop a successful career in accountancy and/or business management.
